In this letter, Rev. John Gutteridge address the accusations and complaints made about his way of collecting subscriptions for the University. Gutteridge defends his position on collecting subscription amounts by implying that the 100 dollar amounts gradually often turn into thousands. He acknowledges the concerns that Davidson makes however, he emphasizes that until the Trustees can come to some kind of consensus he will proceed to collect subscriptions in this manner.
